Technology has become a fundamental part of society, involved in numerous fields and aspects of life. Its transformative impact on the world is undeniable, especially with the advent of new technology over the years. What may have seemed possible only in science fiction is growing to be more and more likely in reality. 

The evolution of technology is a testament to humanity’s potential, causing waves that will continue for years to come. From industries to communication and more, technology brings out numerous changes, both good and bad. It is important to understand technology to make the most of it, so it can be utilized for a better future. 

Emerging technologies in society

Numerous technological advancements have fundamentally changed society, bringing about possibilities but also challenges. Like the internet which allows information and communication to spread around the globe. Social media transformed interactions, marketing and communication. Another example is energy, where discovering renewable energy sources allows cutting down on fossil fuels to help the environment (1). 

The evolution of technology leads to many benefits, such as improvements in communication, efficiency and healthcare. With techs such as social media greatly enhancing communication, evolving systems provide better capability for systems to facilitate tasks. Similarly advancements in the medical side allow for improvements with diagnosis and treatment. And let’s not forget about AI, a true game changer in many fields. It had a great impact on industries, having improved productivity and efficiency while breaching new fields. 

But even evolution doesn’t come without its own setbacks. Great as better systems and techs are, they may still lead to workers losing their jobs, especially when the work can be automated. There is also the matter of privacy to consider, as new techs can store users' data, leaving concerns about its protection. In that same vein, they can cause security risks like hacking, or putting the data at risk. 

Emerging technologies with education

Education has to be an ever changing process, keeping up with the world and development to be successful to avoid stagnancy. The world is changing everyday and it’s important for people to keep up to succeed. Technology has had quite an impact on education, providing many benefits for seekers of knowledge. Practically everything is available online, paving way to many forms of teaching, like video chats and even podcasts. Access to technology has even expanded enough to allow students to learn from professionals directly with apps like Zoom. It can even offer 3D experiences that gives students hands-on experience (2)(3).

By allowing the sharing of material and facilitating communications between students and teachers, technology has greatly improved efficiency and productivity. It can also offer cost-effective learning methods which reduces the need for traditional methods. This also comes with the bonus of providing a more engaging and inventive learning experience with a number of different tools, allowing people to participate any time, anywhere (4). 

Technology is an ever expansive field with a global reach that extends to many fields. Technological strides have paved the way for new paths in the educational field, paving the way for numerous changes. Its continuous evolution points towards a bright future. While it may not be perfect, remember that in the right hands, technology can be a gateway to numerous possibilities.
