YouLearnt Celebrates English Language Graduates at Historic Roman Theatre in Al-Khums Digital Learning Meets Ancient Splendour as Libyan Students Mark English Language Milestone
Students from the Spoken English programme of the online learning platform YouLearnt were honoured at a special graduation ceremony held on Thursday, 23 April at the ancient Roman Theatre of Leptis Magna in Al-Khums, Libya, marking World English Language Day and celebrating the completion of their training courses.
The event, organised in partnership with the Libyan Youth Hostels Association, drew large crowds including students' families, local residents, and guests from across Libya; reflecting growing public interest in English language education and community-driven learning initiatives in the country.

The ceremony opened with an address by Ms. Asmaa Alabilag, Director of YouLearnt's Libya branch, who emphasised the importance of investing in education and youth skills development, and commended students for their dedication throughout the programme.
The event was hosted by Mr. Abdulmnem Gait, Director of the Spoken English programme, who guided attendees through the evening's proceedings.

Highlights of the celebration included a series of performances and short plays delivered entirely in English by the students themselves, giving them a practical platform to demonstrate the language skills they had developed.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to all graduates who successfully completed their courses on the platform.

The occasion also brought together Mr. Bashir Hussein, Chief Operating Officer of YouLearnt, and Mr. Faisal Alnajah, Director of the British Council in Libya; a meeting that underscored the strengthening ties between digital education providers and established cultural institutions in the country.
The event highlights the expanding role of digital learning platforms in empowering Libyan youth with the skills and tools needed to engage with the wider world.
