Hi there! I am a highly qualified, UK-trained teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience in both British and International schools. I have native-level English and Italian, and advanced/fluent Spanish and French. I have taught Modern Foreign Languages and led Language departments, first in the UK, then in the Middle East, Central America, and now in Europe. Having worked with a wide range of students with different attitudes and aptitudes, I have developed a strong expertise in teaching and curriculum design. I have successfully prepared students for a range of qualifications, including MYP Language Acquisition, IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme (Language B and Ab Initio). I hold a First-class BA (Hons), an MA in European Studies, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and a Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Teaching style My teaching approach is grounded in Second Language Acquisition theory and Positive Psychology. I believe that every learner can achieve excellence when supported in a caring, stimulating, and student-centred environment. My lessons are known for their pace, creativity, and interactivity, using questioning and reflection to foster curiosity and confidence. Alongside this, I place strong emphasis on explicit exam preparation, teaching my students effective exam strategies, assessment criteria, and techniques that help them perform confidently and successfully in exams. I am also highly skilled in digital and hybrid learning, having served as a Distance Learning Consultant to promote innovative, blended approaches to teaching.
