How to Use

What is Soroban?

The Soroban is a Japanese abacus used for fast mental arithmetic. Each column represents a decimal place: ones, tens, hundreds, and so on from right to left.

Bead Values

Upper bead = 5

Each lower bead = 1

How to Read

Count beads touching the center bar.
Columns go right → left: 1s, 10s, 100s…
Max digit per column: 9 (5 + 4)

Controls

Click or drag a bead toward the bar.
Click again or drag away to move it back.
Use Random for a challenge!
